Dear Somerville Voter, I am running for Alderman-at-Large because I am the most qualified man for the job, with a solid record of achieving beneficial changes, such as bringing the MBTA and new pedestrian-friendly economic development to Davis Square, as well as the nearby neighborhoods of Powder House and Ball Squares. I had a major role in saving the Somerville Theatre, bringing Redbones, The Burren, Jimmy Tingle’s Off-Broadway Theatre, and other fine establishments into Davis Square. I worked closely with the Davis Square Task Force to limit the central business area adjacent to the nearby residential neighborhoods. I had a hand in creating the University Zoning District that controls development at the edge of the Tufts University campus in Somerville. I also helped secure a $1 million Payment in Lieu of Taxes to the City, as well as dedicated scholarships and financial aid to Somerville students accepted to Tufts University. I look forward to the completion of Assembly Square, with an Orange Line station included, and to welcoming the Green Line throughout the City. I have worked to make Ward Six a great place in which to live and work, and I can take my proven leadership skills and abilities back to City Hall, where I can go to work right away, making the entire City of Somerville a great place in which to live and work. I would be honored to receive your vote on May 15th, 2007. Please call me at 617-625-0781, or e-mail me at jack@aldermanjackconnolly.com if you need a ride to the polls. Thank you, Jack Connolly |
